Call for applications: new sustainability and decent work coaching programme for BSOs

Through a coaching programme, TDC aims to strengthen the capacity of African* Business Support Organisations (BSOs) to support enterprises and producer organisations in sustainability and decent work.  Interested BSOs have until 16 September to submit their application.

Brief description of the support provided

The aim of the coaching programme is to support African BSOs in acquiring and mastering the knowledge they need to enable producer companies and cooperatives to adapt to various regulations and standards related to sustainability and decent work: in particular, the European Regulation against Deforestation and Forest Degradation (EUDR), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and the African Sustainable Cocoa Standard (ARS1000).

Specifically, TDC’s support will cover the following areas, among others:

  • The introduction of tools within MSMEs to identify, assess, monitor and address gender, human rights and environmental risks and issues related to enterprises and their products.
  • The use of data collection, mapping, recording and management tools (on producers, their land, etc.) and reporting tools (checklists, benchmarks, etc.) in line with EUDR requirements.
  • Calculation of the living income gap between a living income and real incomes of producer households; implementation of an action plan to try to reduce this income gap.
  • Awareness-raising, training and mechanisms to combat the worst forms of child labour.

The support will consist of 5 coaching modules lasting between 2 and 5 days. They will be defined in advance on the basis of identified needs and delivered at OSE offices by coaches specialised in sustainability and decent work.

The support will be spread over 3 years, from the beginning of 2025 to the end of 2027.

Submission of applications

Through this call for applications, the TDC will select high potential BSOs that want to continuously improve their organisation and the quality of their support services to entrepreneurs/businesses.

Interested BSOs can consult the call content & rules and submit their application by Monday 16 September 2024 at 12.30 (Brussels time) via https://submit.link/2Ls

*[1] BSOs must have their head office in one of the following countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Mali, Mozambique, Uganda, Rwanda, Senegal, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Ethiopia or Kenya.
